Transactional procurement
The Procurement Centre of Excellence (PCoE) in Newport which was previously part of the Home Office, has moved into GPS to become an integral part of our service offering. Now known as Service Operations and forming part of the Procurement Services directorate, its capacity and capability as a Procurement Delivery Centre enables us to offer an end-to-end transactional procurement service, strengthening our service offering considerably.
This is an important structural change and a significant step in the delivery of both the procurement and Civil Service Reform programmes. The move supports the drive to increase spend though aggregated deals and will help streamline procurement resource across government to improve efficiency.
The move to GPS does not affect existing supplier relationships. Live contracts remain unchanged - as this is a Crown to Crown move, there is no requirement to formally novate contracts.
Procurement services will continue to be delivered from our Newport office. Please note that Newport staff email addresses have changed to name.surname[at]gps.gsi.gov[dot]uk with immediate effect.
