Non Executive Director

Vincent Godfrey

Vincent became a Non-Executive Director on the Government Procurement Service Board in August 2011. He has been Commercial Director at the Ministry of Justice since November 2008 where he is responsible for annual expenditure of c£3.5bn and a staff of 275, principally supporting the National Offender Management Service and HM Courts and Tribunals Service. His span covers everything from outsourcing prisons, through property services including construction and information technology, to routine commodity purchasing. He also runs the in-house transport and logistics operation.

In April 2011 Vincent was appointed as a Crown Representative responsible for government's relationship with a pool of strategic suppliers. This part-time role requires him to maintain an overview of significant new contract awards and work closely with departments to deliver efficiency savings and resolve significant contractual disputes.

Vincent started work with London Underground Limited in 1990 performing a variety of commercial roles predominantly related to infrastructure maintenance and upgrade. He joined Railtrack PLC in 2000 (latterly Network Rail) as the Southern Region Supply Chain Manager responsible for annual expenditure of c£800m. Prior to taking his current role he was the Head of Procurement for HM Prison Service from 2004.
